Welcome to Indoorgreenly.com
Hey there, and thanks for stopping by. If you’ve ever stared at a sad little pot on your windowsill wondering why the leaves keep turning yellow, you’re in the right place. This site is all about growing stuff indoors — from leafy bamboo stalks to tiny carrot tops you can actually eat. No big backyard needed. No fancy tools. Just you, a pot, and a bit of patience.
Who We Are
We’re a small group of plant lovers who got tired of scrolling through blog posts that didn’t actually help. You know the type — ten paragraphs of fluff before they tell you how much water your plant needs. So we decided to build something better. Something honest. Indoorgreenly started as a weekend project and slowly grew into a full site packed with guides, tips, and a whole lot of trial and error from our own apartments.
Some of us are self-taught. A few studied horticulture in school. All of us have killed plants before (sorry, little basil friend). That’s part of the deal when you’re learning, and we think it’s okay to talk about the flops too.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple: help everyday folks grow healthy plants inside their homes without feeling lost. Whether you live in a tiny studio or a big house with zero sunlight, we want you to feel like growing something green is possible. We break down the confusing stuff, skip the fancy words, and hand you steps you can actually follow.
What We Cover
You’ll find guides on a bunch of different indoor plants here. Some of our most-read topics include:
- Growing bamboo indoors (yes, even lucky bamboo that keeps dying on you)
- Starting carrots in containers on a kitchen counter
- Herbs like mint, basil, and parsley for people who cook
- Low-light plants for dark rooms and tricky corners
- Fixing common problems — droopy leaves, root rot, weird bugs, pale color
- Soil picks, pot sizes, and watering schedules that actually make sense
We add new posts often, and we update old ones when we learn something better. Plants change, and so does our advice.
Why You Can Trust Us
Trust matters to us. A lot. When you read something on this site, we want you to feel sure it’s accurate. Here’s how we keep it that way.
Every article goes through a review before it goes live. We check facts against trusted sources like university extension programs, peer-reviewed studies, and experienced growers we’ve talked to over the years. If we share a tip, it’s usually because one of us has tried it in our own home first. If we haven’t, we say so.
We also believe in fixing our mistakes out loud. If we get something wrong, we correct the post and note what changed. No quiet edits, no pretending. Our editorial policy is pretty basic: be honest, stay useful, and never recommend something just for a paycheck.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m the founder of Indoorgreenly. I started gardening as a kid, tagging along with my grandmother in her tiny balcony garden. She grew tomatoes in paint buckets and taught me that plants don’t care how rich you are — they just want a little care and the right light. Years later, I moved into a city apartment with one north-facing window and almost gave up. Instead, I started experimenting. I read everything I could, failed a ton, and slowly figured out what works indoors.
I built this site because I wanted the kind of resource I couldn’t find back then. Something warm, practical, and written by someone who’s been through the yellow leaves and the weird gnats too.
How We Create Our Content
Every post starts with a real question — usually one a reader sent us or one we ran into ourselves. From there, a writer on our team digs into the topic. We pull from our own hands-on growing, talk to other gardeners, and cross-check the science with reliable sources.
Then an editor reviews the draft for accuracy and clarity. We ask questions like: Would a total beginner get this? Are the steps in the right order? Did we skip anything? Once it passes, we publish it. After that, we watch for reader comments and update the post when new info comes in.
Get in Touch
Got a question, a plant problem, or just want to say hi? We love hearing from readers. Whether you spotted a typo, disagree with something we wrote, or want to share a photo of your first homegrown carrot, don’t be shy. You can reach us anytime at [hello@indoorgreenly.com] and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
